What is Black Adoptees Meetup?
Black Adoptees Meetup is an inclusive and therapeutic space for Black adoptees to informally process the unique experience of being Black, adopted, and coming out of the fog. Through this organization, we create a community of like minded individuals.
We meet up once a year to laugh, eat, and play. We hold space for the multiple and interconnected stories that bind us as unique individuals.
At Black Adoptees Meetup, you are allowed to be you!

MEET THE CO-FOUNDERS |
TARCIA SMITH and KATHERIN GARLAND are the co-founders of Black Adoptees Meetup.
Tarcia is the host of The Adoption Journey Podcast and Katherin is an author, memoirist, and blogger who is best known for her memoir, In Search of a Salve: Memoir of a Sex Addict.
They are both adoptees, who identify as Black and want to live in a world where Black adoptees can "just be."
